Power Outage: EKEDC, Ikeja Electric Notify Customers Of Blackout In Parts Of Lagos

The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) wishes to inform customers of a 2-day planned power outage in parts of their coverage areas.

Customers within Ibeju, Ajah, Lekki and Islands Districts will experience power outage from 7am, September 7, 2022 to 7pm, September 9, 2022.

According to EKEDC, the planned power outage is due relocation of Egbin/Aja 330kV Line 3 to Spare Omotosho 330kV Line 2 Bay. This was announced on Monday: “Dear Esteemed Customers, we wish to notify you of the relocation of Egbin/Aja 330kV Line 3 to Spare Omotosho 330kV Line 2 Bay from 7am, 7th September to 7pm, 9th September, 2022. During this period Ajah & Lekki Transmission Stations will be out of supply.

“Customers within Ibeju, Ajah, Lekki and Islands Districts will be affected.bPlease note; this is to improve our services in the affected areas. Thank you for usual understanding and cooperation”.

In the same vain, Ikeja Electric (IE) announced a 10-day power outage affecting some areas in Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State from Tuesday, September 6, 2022 to Monday, September 15, 2022.

According to a statement from IE,  the company will be replacing old panels at its Igando injection substation, which is geared towards “improving the quality and quantity of power: to the areas that will be affected in the local government area.

The affected areas are General Hospital, Obadore, Egan, Akesan, Igando-Ikotun, Agric Road and New Igando.

IE appeals to customers to be understanding during the time of blackout.
