A Non Profit Organization, WAAW Foundation is currently accepting applications for 2022/2023 Scholarship edition for female students in Africa.
The WAAW Foundation Scholarship offers $500 for need-based undergraduate female African students admitted to a University, College, or institute of higher learning in Africa.
Geeky Nigeria reports that WAAW Foundation offers annual scholarships to students who demonstrate need and prove their status as full-time students in a STEM-related course in an African University.
WAAW was Founded in 2007 by Dr. Unoma Okorafor, in response to a burning desire to see more women of African descent healthy, educated, and inspired to participate in home and community building.
The Recipients of WAAW 2022/2023 scholarship will be required to start a STEM Outreach Chapter at their university.
Accepted courses include (without exception): Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-related courses at any African university; All fields of Engineering, All computer science, Science & Mathematics related fields, Industrial chemistry, environmental sciences, Medical courses; Pharmacy / Biomedical, Biochemistry, Zoology, and Agriculture, Geography, Statistics, etc.
Course not accepted are: Core medical courses like Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Social Science courses, and Art courses.
To be eligible, you must be a female student of African origin living in Africa between the ages of 16-32.
You must also have confirmed admission to a higher institution in Africa studying undergraduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field, and can demonstrate financial need for the scholarship
An Excellent academic record will be an added advantage.
Note that deadline for applications is November 12, 2022.
