Expedia Group has launched its Open World Accelerator, an initiative to advance innovation in the travel industry.
The accelerator aims to help startups and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) fast-track their growth, and innovate on the purpose-built Open World technology platform.
Geeky Nigeria reports that Expedia Group’s Open World Accelerator is a six-month, non-equity remote accelerator is open for startups and SMBs around the world, and features two programs: Impact Program & Co-Development Program.
The Objective of the Impact Program is for Startups and SMBs to try into the Open World™ social impact and sustainability strategy. The Impact program aims to empower startups and SMBs in the travel and hospitality ecosystem using the Expedia Group platform. The Theme “Increase access for underserved travelers; making travel more open and accessible”
For the Co-Development Program, the objective is to fast-track new platform capabilities through co-development with selected startups and SMBs on Expedia’s Open World platform.
To be eligible for the Impact program, your startup or SMB must meet the following requirements: Tech or tech-enabled and must have at least a have a product or service built to the MVP (minimum viable product) stage, Incorporated in the last 10 years or less, and Have a mission, objective or focus to increase accessibility and/or inclusivity within the travel industry.
