UONGOZI Institute, as part of the 2023 African Leadership Forum (ALF), has called on African citizens between the ages of 18 – 25 years to submit their essays for the Youth Leadership Competition
The Youth Leadership Competition is organised as a component of the African Leadership Forum (ALF) to provide a space for the youth of Africa and the next generation of leaders in the region to contribute to important discussions on leadership and sustainable development.
Geeky Nigeria reports that the 2023 ALF will be co-convened by H.E. Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, ALF Patron and fourth President of the United Republic of Tanzania, and H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat (AfCFTA), in Accra, Ghana from 23 – 24 February.
The theme will be “Promoting African intra-trade to unlock agricultural potential in Africa”.
For the competition, African citizens between the age of 18 and 25 are to write about their perspectives on leadership as it relates to a theme of ALF.
The essay topic is: If you were an African leader, how would you promote African intra-trade to unlock agricultural potential in Africa?
The submitted essays will be rigorously evaluated on the basis of originality, organisation, creativity, appropriateness to contest theme, and the use of language.
The winners get the opportunity to participate in the ALF plenary session and receive their awards at a prize-giving ceremony – in the presence of distinguished delegates from the forum.
