What an intriguing and intense world cup final it was in Qatar.
Many even speculated it been the best world cup ever, maybe true or not, it’s indeed a remarkable world cup match, one that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
The match started on a high note for Argentina, they came all out and overshadowed the France team and they got rewarded in the 23rd minute of the match with a goal from the spot by Lionel Messi.
Thirteen minutes later, they scored a second goal after a superb counter-attacking football that was finished by Angel Di Maria. They had a perfect half-time, one would have thought it an easy win for them.
France had no single shot on target at half-time, they were totally outplayed by the Argentines, not until the 80th minute of the match when a penalty was awarded in their favour and Mbappe converted from the spot.
A few seconds later, or in about a minute, Mbappe scored a superb one-time shot to send them levelled which extended the match into extra time.
There was a lot of drama at the extra time from both ends, pressing and looking for the winner at all costs which finally paid off for the Argentines in the 108th minute with another goal from Lionel Messi after a rebounce from Hugo Lloris.
10 minutes after, France was awarded another penalty and Kylian Mbappe converted from the spot again to keep them levelled for the second time in the match which later extended into penalty shootouts.

Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni couldn’t convert both of their penalties for France while on the other end, Paulo Dybala, Leandro Paredes converted theirs to keep the hope alive and Gonzalo Montiel sealed it to win the world cup for Argentina.
Emiliano Martinez was the showman for Argentina, he was spectacular all through this tournament and he showed pure class till the last minute.
After an awful start to the world cup, the Argentines went ahead to win it in grand style and Lionel Messi made history, truly he’s won it all. The French team would have their heads up for putting up a good fight. The world of football is proud of these two great teams.
