Living a sedative life is very risky, most entrepreneurs have turned themselves into workaholics.
There’s a saying that “the life of a job is longer than your life”. If you fail to stay healthy while working and your life continues to collapse, you’ll be the one to suffer the consequences.
That you are an entrepreneur doesn’t mean you should not prioritise your health. A lot of people spend hours sitting and staring at their laptops while working, they even eat snacks, and junk, and drink endless coffee throughout the day.
If you repeat this same cycle over and over again you will begin to experience a lot of health challenges which increase your chances of developing chronic health issues.
Despite all this, you can still stay healthy and fit as an entrepreneur. You can take the following steps to stay healthy;
- EAT HEALTHY FOOD: What you eat has ways of affecting your health. A diet rich in fast food, and junk is bad for your health or increases the risk of developing health problems such as obesity, diabetes, etc. That food contains high amounts of sugar e.g. Energy drinks, bread, ice cream, etc. Know and study the types of healthy food your body can tolerate without a negative side. Make your health your priority.
- EXERCISE YOUR BODY: Exercise enhances and helps you to maintain your physical fitness. There are many types of physical activity, including swimming, running, jogging, walking, dancing, etc. It is very important to exercise your body if you want to stay fit and healthy. Also, exercise can reduce your risk of having Chronic diseases. A healthy body will help develop a healthy mind.
- SLEEP/REST: It is very important to sleep for 8 hours. Entrepreneurs will argue with this because they want to make money at all costs. What if you make the money and your health fails afterwards? That you sleep regularly doesn’t make you a less entrepreneur, it’s just that you know sleep is vital to your achievement. Find a consistent sleep habit and stick to it. Never underrate the power of a sound sleep
- TAKE BREAK: it’s very essential to take a break at times, not every time you need to work. Also, you don’t need to accept all jobs. Saying “No” doesn’t make you weak. Learn to take a break from work. Take a break from social media, to re-strategize and freshen your mind.
Health is wealth when there’s a life where you can still work and do any kind of job when you are alive and fit. Make your health your priority.
