UMI has commenced application for the 4th Cohort of its mentorship programme for mums.

The Umi Mentorship Programme is a supportive initiative designed specifically for new mothers and those with children under three years old. Launched in June 2023, this innovative program connects mothers with experienced mentors, fostering growth and development as parents, partners, and professionals.

Since its inception, the programme has empowered mothers from 12 African countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. The upcoming fourth cohort, running from February to April 2025, offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth.

This virtual mentorship program provides flexibility, with the option for in-person meetings. Participants will benefit from:

  • Mentorship from successful professionals with experience in raising children
  • Peer support through mini-circles of five mothers
  • Weekly workshops and reflection sessions focusing on mental health, physical health, career, and family

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be African mothers living in Africa or the diaspora
  • Have children between 0-3 years old
  • Demonstrate willingness to grow personally and professionally
  • Seek guidance from experienced mentors

Applications for the fourth cohort are now open until November 30, 2024, at 11:59 pm. Interested mothers can apply through the Umi Mentorship Programme application page. For more information, visit the official Umi website.
