The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been shut down indefinitely, starting from Monday, January 13, 2025.
This decision was made to ensure the safety of lives and properties due to ongoing student protests.
The protests were sparked by the management’s decision to verify National Diploma results from students’ former schools.
Additionally, students are upset about an alleged increase in tuition fees and delays in mobilizing Higher National Diploma students for the National Youth Service.
According to Yemi Ajibola, the polytechnic’s public relations officer, the management has zero tolerance for fake results and advises students to stay off-campus for their own safety.
