The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, in collaboration with the Lagos State Examinations Board, has announced the commencement of registration for the 2025 Universal Basic Education by Continuous Assessment Scores (UBE BY CAS) and placement test.
This registration period will run from Monday, January 27 to April 18, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, only primary 6 pupils in public and approved private primary schools in Lagos State are eligible to participate in the UBE BY CAS and placement test.
Registration is free for public primary schools, while pupils from approved private primary schools are required to pay N5,000 per candidate through the Lagos State Central Billing System (CBS).
Notably, Yoruba language has been approved as one of the subjects for testing pupils’ knowledge and thinking abilities in the state.
The director urged authorities of public and approved private primary schools to take note of the registration dates and ensure that parents and guardians are informed accordingly.
He also assured stakeholders and parents that measures are in place to ensure a seamless and hitch-free registration process, guaranteeing that no child is left unattended.

Their purview includes exams for primary school students, such as the Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS), and junior secondary school students, like the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
