Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) recently marked its 2nd Founder’s Day with a grand celebration.
The event, held on February 3, 2025, highlighted the university’s remarkable progress, achievements, and future aspirations.
Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, Vice Chancellor of LASUSTECH, welcomed guests and expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for their continuous support.
He reflected on the university’s accomplishments, noting that 2024 was a momentous year, with the completion of their second academic year and the admission of their third set of students. LASUSTECH has now become a well-recognized and respected member of the Nigerian university system.
In terms of academic advancements, LASUSTECH has achieved accreditation for 25 academic programs across four colleges.
The university is also preparing for the accreditation of 14 additional programs in 2025. Furthermore, LASUSTECH is expanding into postgraduate programs, JUPEB, and Top-Up programs.
The Founder’s Day Lecture, delivered by Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, emphasized the crucial role of innovation in driving economic and social transformation.
He cited global examples from South Korea, Singapore, China, and Germany, urging LASUSTECH to adopt a research-driven approach.
Professor Odusanya concluded the celebration by calling on all members of the university community to remain dedicated to LASUSTECH’s growth.
