DevFest 2025
DevFest 2025 was Google’s annual global developer festival, organized by Google Developer Groups (GDGs) across the world, where developers, students, startups, and tech enthusiasts come together to learn, share, and celebrate technology.. DevFest was held in strategic locations in different states in Nigeria, starting with Enugu on Friday, 5th November 2025 and continuing in other states like Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Akure,Oshogbo, etc.. on Saturday,6th December,2025.
The long-awaited detty December is on the roll. It officially kicked off with mind-blowing evidence. Planes landed to drop IJGBs (I just got back), families reunited and memories were made. Did you stay indoors or did you oblee all the way? Let’s see how the second week in December went.
December 10th to 14th marked the decadal celebration of the Praise Festival.
The National Social Impact Leaders’ Summit was also held in Abuja on the 11th and 12th of December. The final show of Davido’s ‘5ive Tour’ was held up until the 14th of December. Fans showed up and turned out. The “Calabar Carnival,” which is well known as “Africa’s Biggest Street Party,” also kicked off.
Nigerians are known for partying and having fun. They did not disappoint at all. December is such a time to rewind, network, and bond.
The final week of December in Nigeria unfolded as a vibrant blend of entertainment, spirituality, and communal celebration, reflecting the country’s rich cultural rhythm and deep-rooted traditions.
Following the excitement of Rhythm Unplugged on December 21 in Lagos, the festive mood spilled into December 22, as cities remained alive with post-concert buzz, social hangouts, and end-of-year gatherings. Lagos, in particular, continued to attract music lovers and tourists, marking the peak of the December festive season.
As the week progressed, attention shifted to December 24, Christmas Eve, when churches across the nation held carol nights. Families gathered in anticipation of Christmas, homes were filled with music, cooking , and relatives while streets buzzed with last-minute shopping and travel.
Christmas Day on December 25 was celebrated nationwide with church services, family reunions, feasting, and visits to friends and loved ones. Many Nigerians used the day to reconnect, share meals, and reflect on the spiritual significance of the season.
The celebrations continued on December 26, Boxing Day, which provided a moment of rest and recreation. Outings continued, while others used the holiday to relax after the intensity of Christmas Day.
Attention gradually shifted oby December 27-28 toward the upcoming New Year. Churches, event centers, and social groups began preparations for crossover services and end-of-year events.
Overall, the period captured the essence of the Nigerian festive season marked by music, worship, family bonding, and joyful anticipation of a new year.
