Kofi, the greedy gardener, is dead in Ordinary People episode 4, and Mirage Estate is getting messier by the minute.
The episode also finally explains the Tornadoes and that explosive helicopter scene from episode one.
Kofi may have had his flaws, but did he really deserve to die? 😭
That is one of the questions Ordinary People episode 4 leaves me asking. Yes, the man may have been greedy, but surely greed is not a death sentence? The way things are unfolding in Ordinary People, nobody seems safe, and the line between being suspicious and being guilty is becoming increasingly blurry.
The helicopter escape finally explained
Beyond Kofi’s fate, this episode finally gives us what we have been waiting for: answers about the Tornadoes and that explosive opening scene from episode one.
Remember the couple who fled their home through an underground passage, raced towards a helicopter and seemingly met their end when the aircraft was shot down? Well, we finally get to see how they pulled off their escape. And honestly, the revelation is wild.
An innocent decoy was used in the escape plan, making the whole incident far more calculated than it initially appeared. But the biggest shock? The officer responsible for shooting down the helicopter was apparently on Tornado’s payroll!
Wait. So the people who were supposed to bring the escape to an end were part of a plan that had much more going on beneath the surface? Talk about a setup.
The Tornadoes were not simply running
What looked like a straightforward attempt to flee suddenly becomes something far more sinister. The Tornadoes were not simply running for their lives; there was a carefully constructed plan behind the chaos. And just when you think you have figured out one part of the story, another revelation forces you to reconsider everything.
That is what makes this episode work. The writers are slowly filling in the gaps while reminding us that the people in this story are rarely what they seem.
Kofi’s death and the growing body count at Mirage Estate
Meanwhile, Kofi’s death adds another disturbing layer to the growing body count around Mirage Estate. At this point, I am beginning to wonder whether anybody in this neighbourhood can go about their daily business without becoming entangled in somebody else’s secrets.
Four episodes in, Ordinary People has given us:
- suspicious neighbours
- covert surveillance
- questionable loyalties
- a helicopter escape that was not quite what it seemed
And we are only getting started!
What Ordinary People episode 4 leaves unanswered
The Tornadoes’ story is becoming clearer, but the bigger picture is still far from complete. Who else is involved? What other secrets are buried beneath the seemingly peaceful estate? And how many more people will pay for the things they know?
For now, Kofi’s death is unfortunate, the Tornadoes have given us plenty to think about, and my curiosity about Mirage Estate is officially out of control.
Episode five, please. I need answers!
