Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) announces that its Adiyan Water Plant has commenced Water supply to Lagos residents.
A statement by the Managing Director of LWC, Mr Muminu Badmus, commended the support of residents, particularly those that had been affected with the disruption of water supply due to IKEDEC faulty power supply at Akute.
“Operations has commenced at the LWC Adiyan waterworks as a result of successful repair of IKEDEC line at Akute that supply power to the Adiyan waterworks,” the Corporation stated.
Badmus said that with the successful repairs, the Corporation has restored water supply to residents. He appreciated the general public for their patience, endurance, cooperation and Understanding particularly, during the period of Water scarcity.
“For improved and sustainable water supply, effort is in progress to connect Iju Waterworks back to IKEDEC which is currently on Operations and connected to Akute Power Plant (APL).
”The Lagos Water Corporation has attributed the 70MGD Adiyan Water supply disruption to the fault on the IKEDEC line at Akute supplying power to Adiyan water plant.
“The corporation expressed her deep appreciation to the general public, and enjoined residents to continue support Government’s efforts in providing and sustaining potable water supply in the state,” Badmus said.
Badmus also noted that the importance of water cannot be underestimated.
