The London premiere of The Four, the new film from Funke Akindele, has sold out. FilmOne Entertainment, the distributor, confirmed that tickets for the 29 November screening at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square are no longer available, in what is billed as the first Nollywood premiere at the venue. For Nigerians at home and abroad, Funke Akindele The Four is not limited to one glamorous night.
Audiences in the UK can see it in cinemas from 4 December, and Nigerian cinemas will show it from 11 December 2026, so anyone who could not get a premiere ticket can still catch it on the big screen.

FilmOne confirms the sell-out
According to QED.NG, FilmOne announced the development in a post on X on Thursday. The distributor thanked supporters in its statement.
"The premiere of The Four at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square is officially sold out, and we couldn’t be more grateful," the distributors said.
Akindele also shared the news on X. As reported by TVC News, she addressed her UK followers directly.
"A big thank you to our UK fans! We truly appreciate the love and support. ❤️ See you at the premiere on November 29th!" Akindele wrote.
The speed of the sell-out will please the producers. Akindele first announced the London event on 2 November 2026 with the words "LONDON, WE'RE COMING!", presenting it as a joint undertaking by Funke Akindele Network and FilmOne.
A Nollywood first in Leicester Square
The venue carries weight in the film world. ModernGhana reported the promotional line that a Nollywood title will premiere there for the first time, which the publicity frames as another milestone for Nigerian cinema on the global stage.
Akindele has said the venue has 791 seats. That is a modest number against the demand, and it explains why tickets went so quickly.
She has also drawn attention to the royal connection. The cast will sit in the Royal Booth, which she said was previously occupied by King Charles at the premiere of Gladiator. Princess Catherine sat in seat 18 and the King in seat 19, she explained.
What The Four is about
The full title is The Four: No One Fights Alone. QED.NG describes the story as centring on four women whose friendship, courage and loyalty are tested as they leave their community for the city to secure the future of a young man they love.
The ensemble is large. It includes Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji and Ali Nuhu. Uzor Arukwe, Wunmi Toriola, Ronke Oshodi Oke and Antar Laniyan are also listed, and the singers Waje and Shoday feature too.
Funke Akindele Network produced the film, while FilmOne Entertainment handles distribution.
Why Funke Akindele The Four matters at the box office
Expectations are high because of her recent record. Her 2025 film, Behind The Scenes, crossed N2 billion in box office earnings, becoming the first Nollywood production to reach that figure.
A sold-out London night suggests the audience for her work extends well beyond Nigeria. For the Nigerian diaspora in the UK, the premiere and the cinema run that follows offer a chance to see a major local release at the same time as audiences at home.
Meta backs London and Lagos events
Facebook, the Meta platform, is partnering with Akindele on both the London premiere and a homecoming premiere in Lagos. TVC News reported that the partnership was announced on Thursday and aims to bring together creators, celebrities and audiences.
Behind-the-scenes content from both events will be shared through Meta Africa's Facebook page and the official Facebook pages of Akindele and Fanntv. A creator-hosted space is also planned at the events.
What happens next for Funke Akindele The Four
The timetable is short. The film premieres in London on 29 November, reaches UK cinemas on 4 December and opens across Nigeria on 11 December 2026. The Lagos homecoming premiere is planned alongside the Nigerian release.
- 29 November: London premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, sold out

No details of the Lagos premiere date or venue were given in the material available. Viewers hoping to see the Funke Akindele film should watch FilmOne and Akindele's channels for ticketing announcements as the December dates approach.
