The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, says Oyo State Government has concluded plans to relay live all matches of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on its television and radio stations.
The statement quoted Mr Seun Fakorede, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, revealed after a meeting with the management of Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) on Monday.
Fakorede disclosed that the efforts was to further change the fortunes of sporting activities in the state for the better.
“Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has invested in the new broadcast technology which would enable both BCOS radio and television to beam 3SC football matches live.
“The time has come to raise the bar in sporting activities, especially football. 3SC will enjoy more follower ship with this arrangement to broadcast their matches live on BCOS radio and television.
“It will give opportunity to the fans and lovers of the club to view their progress as well,” he said
The commissioner noted that the support would also assist our own broadcast outfits to launch into beaming local content to the world at large and as well get more viewership.
He said that the governor has been working day and night to raise the standard of sports in the state.
BCOS Chairman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, revealed that the management of the corporation have put in their best to see that the new arrangement works out.
He assured that the committee would be constituted immediately to that effect.
