The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) on Tuesday said that the Federal Government has appointed Dr Mohammed Yahuza as the 4th Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the university.
The Deputy Director of Corporate Services of FUOYE, Mr Adeyinka Ademuyiwa, disclosed this in a statement in Oye-Ekiti.
Ademuyiwa said that Yahuza was appointed along with four others on July, 13, at the National Universities Commission (NUC) auditorium by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu in Abuja, to oversee the affairs of the university.
According to the statement, Dr Yahuza hails from Yobe state, he is a veterinary scientist and a retired Director of Administration at the Federal Ministry of Health.
The statement noted that the new council chairman will be supported in the governing affairs of the university by experienced and trusted personality with the likes of Alhaji Ali Kolo, Engr. Sabo Inuwa, Prof. Ibrahim Buba and Mr Femi Okeowo.
Ademuyiwa said that the management of the university were delighted with the appointment and looking forward to work with the new governing council members to further improve the growth and development of the institution.
The deputy director, assured the chairman of the council of the staff’s cooperation and supports to take the university to an enviable height during their tenure.
