Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast cloudy and thundery weather from Monday till Wednesday.
According to NiMet`s weather outlook released in Abuja on Sunday, there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the Northern region in the morning on Monday.
Thunderstorms are expected over parts of Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Kebbi, Zamfara and Sokoto during the afternoon and evening period.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are anticipated over the North central region in the morning hours with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kogi and Kwara states.
“Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Plateau, Kogi, Nassarawa, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory.
“Cloudy skies are anticipated over the inland and the coastal cities of the South in the morning hours with chances of rains over Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Ogun and Oyo,” it said.
NiMet predicted thunderstorms over parts of Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Imo, Abia, Edo, Ebonyi, Rivers, Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa and Lagos later in the day.
According to the agency, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are anticipated over the Northern region in the morning hours on Tuesday with a few thunderstorms over parts of Taraba, Katsina, Kano and Kaduna.
NiMet forecast thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Kebbi, Gombe, Zamfara and Borno later in the day.
The agency anticipated the North central region to be cloudy with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Benue and Niger in the morning hours.
“Later in the day, thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Nassarawa, Benue, Niger and Federal Capital Territory.
“Cloudy skies are envisaged over the inland and coastal cities of the South with chances of rains over Delta and Cross River in the morning hours.
“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over parts of Edo, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River and Lagos,” it said.
NiMet also predicted partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the Northern region in the morning hours on Wednesday.
The agency anticipated thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi, Kano, Bauchi, Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Jigawa later in the day.
It predicted partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the North central region with slim prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Niger, Kogi, Nasarawa and Benue during the morning hours.
“Further into the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Niger, Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa and Federal Capital Territory. Cloudy skies are anticipated over inland and coastal cities of South in the morning hours.
“There are prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo, Ebonyi, Delta, Enugu, Abia, Cross River, Bayelsa, Lagos and Akwa Ibom in the evening period,” it said.
