A Non-governmental Organisation (NGO), Evergreen G6 Club, has awarded scholarships to students of Papaldna community in Nasarawa State.

Mr Bamidele Olujobi,President of Evergreen Club annouced at the association’s 2021 Charity Food-Fest and Educational Support Project in Nasarawa State on Thursday.

According to Bamidele, the club also distributed food items to the members of the community to celebrate the Christmas and also to meet their needs.

He said that the organisation’s aim is to bring back core values, help the less privileged and also support indigent students.

“The club has brought its support to the community both in the food -fest programme and the Educational scholarship to enable quality education to the poor children who want to continue their study.

“That has called for the scholarship of the two students in the community which are miss Deborah Oyeyemi , an SS3 student of GSS Karshi and Miss Cecilia Abure also an SS3 student of GSS New Karshi.

“The scholarship is to take care of their three terms school fee, WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and if the beneficiaries are diligent the club will also sponsor their tertiary education,” he said.

Olujobi called on the beneficiaries of the scholarship to put in good use the opportunity given to them to enable them advance their education beyond secondary level.

“We have taken time so well to scan through the community. Unfortunately we arrived at these two ladies. The challenge is for the boys to sit up and stop wandering around but be serious with their academic.

“I tell you, that is not what the future holds, as it is, the ladies are already challenging the men, you need to rise to the challenge,” he said.

The Esu of Papaldna community, Chief James Atuwa, expressed his gratitude to the club for their support to his community.

“I am really excited and happy for this opportunity shown to the Papaldna community, and the scholarship of the two students because it is really a good thing to have this type of opportunity.

“I want to use this medium to call on other NGOs and the government to provide for the needy in the community and also for the government to come and create good roads in the community,” he added.

One of the beneficiaries of the scholarship, Miss Deborah Oyeyemi, said she really exited being a beneficiary of the scholarship and also vowed to increase her commitment towards her study.

“I’m really excited and grateful to Evergreen Club for making me a beneficiary of this amazing scholarship and I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to the Club.

“And I promise to be more committed to my study so that I can also benefit from another scholarship to study in a higher institution with the support of the Club,” she said.
