Power Outage

Following a total system collapse of the national grid on March 14, all TCN stations have been restored, and power supply is being restored in phases to customers of Electricity Distribution Companies.

On March 14 and March 15, Nigeria witnessed a total blackout due to the collapse of the national power grid, that was evidenced by the general power outage that most electricity customers experienced.

Some power distributors took to their social media handles to explain that the cause of the power outages customers were facing was due to the total system collapse.

According to Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), the total system collapse led to outages across their network, and they were closely monitoring the situation with their TCN partners to determine the cause and a timeline for resolution.

Then, EKEDC recently stated that the National Grid has been restored and a total of 337MW has been allocated to their network.

Although, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is yet to explain what caused the total system collapse, electricity customers are still waiting to be supplied, as the power allocation stills seems to not be slow.
