The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the minimum cut-off marks for admissions in the 2022/2023 academic session.
The announcement was made during the policy meeting held by JAMB with relevant stakeholders headed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, in Abuja, Thursday.
According to JAMB’s registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the cut-off marks were decided upon, following debates and votes by vice chancellors of universities, rectors of polytechnics and provosts of colleges of education.
He explained that institution can fix their cut-off mark but they should not opt for less than the agreed minimum marks.
“Every institution has the right to fix its own cut-off mark even up to 220 but no one would be allowed to go less than the agreed minimum marks of 100 for colleges of education, 100 for polytechnics and 140 for universities,” he said.
Also at the Policy Meeting, The minister of education called on the leadership of tertiary institutions to partner with the Federal Government’s efforts in restoring industrial harmony into tertiary institutions.
