As much as there are different contentions about the Nigerian presidential election which was conducted on the 25th of February 2023, a political godfather and former Lagos state governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared as the president-elect, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Will the dream for a renewed and deserved hope be conceivable with this new track?” The majority had been filled with such opinions.
Over the last decade, the country had experienced a revolution that has brought a change in the political structure of the country since independence, and this has got people to continually hope for dramatic events in the governance system.
It is undeniable that Nigeria as Africa’s most populous country has intentions to become one of the leading countries economic-wise in the world by 2030.
There is no doubt that the citizens themselves are so much interested in the process of reshaping the governance problem of the country to make its dream achievable. The interest is evident with the massive turnout during the previously conducted election.
This sets the inclination that Nigeria is pedalling toward a great start; this is the emergence of the hope that had long been anticipated.
With the idea to lunge into an investment-driven economy that will bring redemption to the fallen state of the country’s economy, better attention is needed to be diverted to the demography of youths as the future of Nigeria is dependent on their growing population.
Nigerians are looking to the emergence of the new president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for reformation of the economy, upskilling of its youth, inflation control, and for his administration to bring solace to the country in light of the recent situation in which Nigeria’s economy has fallen into recession with the decline in the value of the naira, rising unemployment, and governance problem among others.
