The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has received a donation of some robots from Platform Capital.
The robots, CRZR, are cloud-based intelligent humanoid robots which have the following features: Face recognition, Surveillance Technology, Open API, Data Management, Advert & Promotion, Book Shelf Management, Research, Customizable, and Entry Validation.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, in his welcome address, thanked Platform Capital for this gesture as well as Friends of the University who have supported the University in various ways over the years. He assured that the robots will be deployed to the University Library, the College of Medicine and the University of Lagos Business School.
Speaking on the donation, The Chairman, Platform Capital, Dr. Akintoye Akindele, stated that Platform Capital is fully aligned with the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ogundipe which is to make the University number one in Africa and one of the best in the world. Consequent to this, the donation was made in order to improve learning experience in the University Library and the University as a whole.
UNILAG Librarian, Dr. Yetunde Zaid, in her vote of thanks, expressed profound gratitude to Platform Capital for the robots, noting that it was a timely and laudable effort.
