The Lagos State Government has finalised plans for the 2020 Governor’s Quiz Competition, scheduled to hold on August 7.
Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, says the initiative is aimed at testing the knowledge of students as well as ensuring that they are always prepared to take up any proficiency test.
Accordint of Adefisayo, the governor’s quiz is an annual event, and it is being held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and adaptation to the ‘new normal’.
“The ministry has taken time to study the peculiarities that come with the guidelines of keeping safe as well as ensuring social distancing.
“We have also deployed all necessary technical expertise to ensure that our students can compete in any competition or attend seminars virtually,’’ She said.
Adefisayo said that students/schools from the six education districts of the state would participate in the competition to be moderated by a renowned quiz master, Mr Olusegun Adedeji.
She implored parents and guardians to ensure their children watch the programme and learn from the event, which will be highly competitive
According to her, viewers can watch via the live streaming on Lagos State Ministry of Education’s Facebook Page – @lasgeducation or YouTube – Education LASG.
