Uniccon Group of Companies, a fast-growing technology startup has unveiled the first-ever humanoid robot in Africa.

The robot named “Omeife” is a six-foot-tall female that provides language as a service for businesses needing to integrate native African audiences. She is also a multipurpose and assistance robot. She speaks African languages and is programmed to have a deep understanding of African culture and behavioural patterns.
Commenting on the development of the robot, the CEO of Uniccon Group of Companies, Chuks Ekwueme said it is paramount in the recognition of Africa as a global tech ecosystem.

A remarkable feature of the “Omeife” humanoid robot is that it has terrain intelligence, which enables it to know the ground and have stability on the floor, and helps it to navigate on non-flat surfaces and maintain good balance.
The robot also has GPS for location and state management for knowing whether the system is standing, walking, talking and so on as well as Advanced Gestures. It expresses while talking, gives hand illustrations, smiles and makes other bodily gestures.
Regarding its relationship with the environment, it has the ability to understand, shape and hold things with its hand. Conversation-wise, it has real-time understanding, and can actively listen and focus on a specific conversation thread as it’s happening.
For productivity and business, the robot comes loaded with multiple languages, which it can switch and interact with specific gestures and possesses a native accent, complete with pitch and vocabulary detailed pronunciations of words, sentences and even phrases.
Significantly, Omeife can identify and tag humans through the face and facial expressions; pay attention to a specific item when required; identify objects and knows their characteristics as well as calculate the positions and distance of objects it sees – It’s a dream come true for detectives and surveillance teams.
